As he worked tirelessly to repair the damaged starship, he encountered a young woman named Liora, a linguist who had managed to decode the Nightshades' language and uncover their plans.

"The Nightshades are not just conquerors," Liora explained one evening, as the crew of the starship watched the swirling black clouds of the Nightshades' ships on the viewscreen. "They are searching for something, something they believe is hidden in Andara. But we don't know what it is."
